Mental Health Awareness Week

This week marks Mental Health Awareness Week. This year, the Mental Health Foundation is focusing on Body Image…

We’re all united with a common goal when we walk through Fitness Flex doors – to get sweaty. We’re looking to change something about ourselves, whether it’s a perkier bum, muscular arms or Victoria Secret legs.

Experts have found that 30% of all adults have felt so stressed by body image and appearance that they felt overwhelmed or unable to cope.

At Fitness Flex, we don’t just want to make your body healthier, we want to make your mind healthier too. This week we want you to take a good hard look at yourself and focus on the parts you like!

The Mental Health Foundation want you to share pictures of yourself feeling confident using #BeBodyKind – it’s okay if you’re not feeling 100% confident right now, they can be from at time in your life!

We want to encourage you to feel comfortable in your own skin – we’ll be right there on the journey with you! Look out for our #BeBodyKind images on social media.

Exercise isn’t all about looking good - it’s about feeling good too!

Did you know that exercise can improve your mental health? Studies have shown that people who are more physically active have more positive emotions and higher levels of self-esteem; and that regular aerobic exercise increases positive moods.

Exercise releases feel-good hormones that make you feel better in yourself and give you more energy!

We get it - when you’re feeling down exercise can be the last thing you want to do – but it’s still important to do something! Try anything that gets your heart racing, even if it’s not in a Fitness Flex gym!
